About Family Planning

The term "family planning program" refers to all organized activities that in some way contribute to delaying or preventing pregnancy. The supply environment (shown below on the left) defines what services are available; demand (shown below on the right) refers to the interest and motivation of the population to use these services. Improvements in supply and demand lead to greater use of FP services, which in turn increases the use of contraception.
